Tyler Alum Curates Local Photo Show

Walter Plotnick (BFA ’80) is a fine art and commercial photographer who is also an instructor in the Fine Arts Department at Penn State Abington, as well as Montgomery County Community College.  He has curated an exhibit of photographs of life in Iraq by Leesha Quigg, a 24-year-old full-time student at Montgomery County Community College.  Ms. Quigg a single mother and a returning U.S. Army Veteran Reservist. During her tour of duty in Iraq from May 2009 until March 2010 she was with the United States Army as a Civil Affairs Specialist.

The show, part of Think Art – Think Photojournalism -The Arts & Humanities Division of Montgomery County Community College in Pottstown, opens in April 2011.  Proceeds from the sale of prints and exhibition catalogs will help fund the College’s Jess Hodges Memorial Veterans Scholarship, which is awarded annually to a veteran student.
